What does a ‘normal day’ look like for you?

My days are so varied; since joining I have been working with one of our clients on a large transformation project. I could be doing anything from gathering and agreeing business requirements to designing and updating business processes or even testing solutions are fit for purpose!

Which of Evotra’s values most resonates and why?

Passionate. Every member of the Evotra team is passionate about what we do. Working with our clients to deliver the very best outcome is at the heart of that passion. Collaboration comes a very close second!

Why did you choose to join Evotra?

Joining a team as passionate as Evotra was the main selling point and I love the mission and company values. Joining a small company where I felt I could make an impact and have my opinions heard was also high on the list.

Who in Evotra inspires you?

We have a fantastic team who each inspire in their own way but if I had to choose it the award would go to Sally and Depesh for starting Evotra during the height of the pandemic, a very bold move and I think one the Evotra team are all grateful for!

Why did you choose to work at Evotra?

It all started when I was introduced to Sally. We scheduled a virtual coffee chat, and after extending the time twice, we realised we had been talking well beyond our initial slot. Sally's enthusiasm and vision were infectious, and the way she articulated how I could contribute to it all was both motivating and inspiring. It felt like the perfect fit from that moment on.

What is it like working for a startup company that is growing fast?

It’s exciting and dynamic—it definitely keeps me on my toes with the fast pace. The best part is the open environment for idea generation and creative problem-solving. Being part of a startup that’s deeply passionate about its mission and its people makes you truly recognise your value. It highlights the importance of your contributions and the positive impact you can have on clients, the business, and the team around you.

What is your biggest achievement at Evotra?

As a newcomer with less than a month under my belt, I’m proud to say I’ve already achieved something meaningful. I’ve worked on creating internal process designs and supporting documents. While that might sound routine to some, I’m incredibly passionate about effective processes. What’s even better is that, in a startup like Evotra, I’ve had the freedom to explore what I love beyond my day-to-day role. The positive feedback I received was incredibly motivating—it’s been fuel to the fire, and I’m excited to keep growing with Evotra!

Who in Evotra inspires you?

Honestly, this is an impossible question—because who at Evotra doesn’t inspire me? Everyone I’ve met so far has inspired me in their own unique way. Sally, in particular, stands out with her unwavering passion for the future growth of Evotra and its people.. The Resolve specialists are another level—their depth of knowledge is mind-blowing, and I’d be thrilled to know even 20% of what they do. The consultancy team, including Dips, are absolute pros—they truly know their stuff! And last but by no means least, Alex, the company EA, who somehow keeps the entire Evotra bubble afloat and running seamlessly—making it all look so easy!

Why did you choose to work at Evotra?

The passion of its founders, the flexibility, the company values, and the ability to make a difference; to be seen and to add value. In a fast-growing startup, you're not a small fish in a big ocean; you're fundamental to its success.

What’s the best thing about working at Evotra?

The collaboration and support among the team—particularly refreshing in a consultancy firm.

Which of Evotra’s values particularly resonates with you and why?

Passionate. I am incredibly passionate about what I do, the value I can add and how my skills directly contribute to our clients' success. A close second would be Accountable, a value I feel is essential for ensuring trust, promoting responsibility and autonomy, and encouraging continuous improvement both individually and as a company.

What happened during your best day at work?

Mitigation plans in place for five identified risks, a successful detailed plan vendor walkthrough with documented assumptions for validation, a client progress-update call where all questions were answered, and an integrations workshop where I could dive into the detail.

How are you supported to be the best you?

Encouragement and flexibility. Having joined Evotra after maternity leave, it didn’t take long to break through imposter syndrome thanks to continuous encouragement and investment of time—particularly from the CEO and COO. The flexibility to balance my career with motherhood has provided phenomenal support.

What does a ‘normal day’ look like for you?

I work in the Data Services team so don’t really have a ‘normal day’! For example, last week a colleague asked me how they could ‘tidy up’ 40,000 addresses without doing it manually! I work on projects that can last from 1 week to 6 months either independently or as part of a team and look at anything involving data. Migrating data, analysing data, reporting on data through automating Excel reports or Power BI dashboards and even extracting data from PDFs using AI! As a developer I enjoy the problem-solving and creative part of my job and my workload is varied!

Which of Evotra’s values most resonates and why?

Passionate! Everyone at Evotra is passionate about what they do, which means we are all working together to provide the best outcomes for our clients. I’m passionate about the importance of data and making it work for businesses and using technology to make efficiencies and business outcomes.

Why did you choose to join Evotra?

To have the opportunity to see projects through from start to finish, from discussing clients’ requirements through delivery. I have a say in how I do my work what direction I want to go in the future. The flexibility offered by Evotra is an important aspect for me. I am more efficient from home, but I can go into the London office any time I want or work at client offices.

Who in Evotra inspires you?

Depesh! He’s amazing at finding solutions to problems and making what appears to be impossible become possible! My colleague Lyndsey also inspires me because she is great at asking the right questions to gather client’s requirements and problem solving. She the person you would want on any solutions team!

Why did you choose to work for Evotra?

I was ready for a new challenge, something outside of a world I had known for almost 11 years. When the opportunity to join Evotra presented itself I jumped at the chance to work for an exciting new contender in the consultancy world!

Who in Evotra inspires you?

I think everyone inspires me in their own way. Sally is so excited for the future of Evotra and brings everyone on the journey; the rEsolve specialists whose knowledge is second to none. I would love to know even 50% of what they do. And then my manager who lives the Evotra values and is proud to do so!

What is your biggest achievement since joining Evotra?

Stepping out of my comfort zone. I did not know what to expect and I grabbed the opportunity with both hands. Plus, I have researched and taught myself new skills including JIRA and Power BI.

What is it like working for a startup Company that is growing fast?

It’s very exciting and because we are still new and still growing, we ALL have the chance to have an input.

Why Evotra?

I was returning to the job market after a year out and was looking for an interesting new challenge. When I was approached about a role at Evotra I was immediately interested. Although I had never worked with Depesh or Sally their reputations preceded them and I knew it would be a great opportunity to learn and grow.

Best thing about working for Evotra?

Firstly, I have autonomy and I am supported in whatever I want to do, within reason of course. I also love the flexibility I have. I know as long as I get the job done, I can attend a school assembly or take my children to the dentist, which is real weight off my mind as a parent. Evotra were fully supportive of my request to work a 4-day week and I’ve never felt any pressure to login on my non-working day.

How are you supported to be the best you?

It is a really knowledgeable and friendly team at Evotra and I know if I want to run something past someone, I will always have a willing ear and someone to bounce ideas off.

What is your biggest achievement at Evotra?

Coming up with the name of the Evotra helpdesk – rEsolve

What is it like working for a startup Company that is growing fast?

My previous place of work was a global company with hundreds of staff, so it’s been a big change. I’m a Business Analyst in the Consultancy team but I really like the opportunity to help out and try my hand at different roles, whether that is assisting the rEsolve team with a query, testing, or helping with some project management work.

Seeing how hard everyone at Evotra works all day every day inspires me to be the best I can – for them and for Evotra. And Depesh and Sally are unwaveringly supportive during our regular catch ups.

Alex

Alex

Business Manager

What does a ‘normal’ day look like for you?

Pah! In my role, there’s no such thing. I jump from legal to finance to office management and everything in between all day every day. I remember one day in particular where I onboarded a new joiner, registered a trade mark, booked our Christmas party, renewed our insurances and somehow managed squeeze in some compliance training. I’d call that a pretty standard day.

Which of Evotra’s values particularly resonates with you and why?

Everything we do stems from our values, and I can honestly say that I see examples of all of them every day. But the one which really stands out to me is Passionate. Every single one of my colleagues is deeply passionate about what they do and how they do it – which makes for some amazingly nerdy conversations in team meetings and in Slack chats! We just really, really love what we do.

What’s your biggest achievement since joining?

I’m proud of so many things I’ve done at Evotra! I’ve had the chance to learn new skills and take on big projects and that’s largely because Sally and Depesh are so open to ideas and to giving their team opportunities to thrive. If I see a better way of doing something I know I can pitch it to them and they’ll allow me to run with it. Implementing a payment management system was a particularly big achievement for me. It was months of research, selection and testing before the (successful) implementation. It’s something I’ve never done before, in fact it’s something that a credit controller or CFO would normally do, but Sally and Depesh put their faith in me, and it gave me the confidence to take on a project of this size.

What’s it like working for a fast-growing start up business?

Chaotic - but in the best way! We’re all busy but in a startup there’s no room for egos or hierarchy - everyone pitches in and everyone supports each other. It’s never, ever boring.

Head of People and Culture

Why did you choose to work at Evotra?

I wanted to join a growing business with a strong sense of purpose, a unique culture, and a firm belief in autonomous, flexible working. Evotra ticked every box, allowing me to experience new professional opportunities and challenges, whilst enjoying flexibility to enjoy life outside of work too.

What’s the best thing about working at Evotra?

I’m empowered to make a difference, not only to our employees, but to what the future of work looks like in our industry and beyond.

Which of Evotra’s values particularly resonates with you and why?

It’s almost too hard to choose. The values are the DNA of the business, and I see them demonstrated by the team every day. Each is important, but inclusive is probably the most important to me as it underpins our operating system, how we make decisions, and what it feels like to work at Evotra. Our dedication to inclusion means that everyone has a voice and every voice is heard.

What advice would you give to someone looking to get into the same field as you?

HR is an ever-changing profession that should focus on the employee experience at its core. The best way to learn about making an impact in a people team is to join a business whose culture and values resonate with you, and spot opportunities to improve what the experience looks like for employees. You’ll build the core skills and knowledge needed along the way.

What’s it like working for a fast-growing start up business?

No two days are the same. You must be ready to roll your sleeves up, embrace change, and accept that sometimes things might feel a little scrappy – but that is the best way to learn. Quick decisions, failing fast, growth mindsets and continuous improvements.
