Why was the healthcheck needed?

The client was struggling with inaccurate policy valuations, which were affecting valuations, reporting accuracy, and confidence in MI. They needed a cleaner, more reliable foundation to make better use of Xplan’s wider functionality and, ultimately, to report accurate MIto the board. 

What did the healthcheck reveal?

  • Low platform reconciliation rates 
  • Accounts not mapped to entities correctly  
  • Accounts not linked to policies correctly  
  • Inconsistent usage of the ‘under agency /under advice’ toggles  
  • Users voiced concerns about insufficient system knowledge   
  • An overly task-heavy account opening workflow 

What actions did we take?

Following the healthcheck, data foundations were strengthened by: 

  • Activating any feeds not yet live  
  • Getting new and existing data feeds reconciling at 100%  
  • Cleansing associated data   
  • Identifying and implementing mechanisms to keep reconciliations clean, such as:  
  • Targeted user training  
  • Updating workflows to include data entry checks and peer reviews  
  • Introducing regular audit (exception) reports for business oversight  
  • Helping the client identify what would add the most value next, eg valuation templates, C-Suite dashboards, or switching on their client portal
